Wonderful fresh seafood cooked per local traditions. Ask the staff what they suggest. Nice end to a late afternoon walk thru city center. But some evenings you need a reservation. View all feedback.
What Claudio Hess doesn't like about Schleimowe:
Folks, there was a time I loved fish. Actually I grew up about 300m away from this place. So, we had no fish at home, our neighbors were all not out for fishing so we went there - three of us. We all agreed afterwards: It was by far (!!!) the absolutely worst fish I ever ate in my life. It smelled (fresh on does not), it was greasy like hell and even the potato salad was a nightmare, basically only mayonnaise...Sorry... View all feedback.
Unpretentious restaurant in the tourist-attraction Holm fisher village in Schleswig. We booked a table and were glad we did as they were pretty full on a weekday evening. It's a fish place so you know what to expect! Also it's not super-posh so dont expect...More

We had the Viking dinner (three different kinds of fried fish with sauce on the side, salads, and a big bowl of fried potatoes). The food was okay and not as greasy as the other reviews have noted (at least not for us).We probably wouldn't come back and try a new place next time we're in Schleswig.
The restaurant looked smart and welcoming from the outside, but was then massively disappointing. The restaurant only sells wine by the glass and the "Pfälzer Riesling" was warm and barely drinkable. The food in general was very greasy, the "Müllerin" trout was completely tasteless, the "Norwegian Salmon" was OK, but the hollandaise sauce was pure grease and the side salad was oozing with an oily dressing. The roast potatoes wer flabby. I ordered a draft beer to make up for the disappointment of the wine, but it took so long to arrive that I had already finished my meal when it finally appeared and at that stage I no longer wanted it, since we were certainly not going to stay for dessert and were ready to leave. The owner/waitress made no apology for the delay, immediately got angry and insisted that it was completely normal for it to take a long time to pour a pint of draft beer "because it has to come out of the tap" and said we had to pay for it regardless. We paid the bill, (except for the beer) and she immediately started making racist remarks about us to the other diners in the restaurant, assuming that we did not understand German (or perhaps not caring whether we did or not). Avoid like the plague!
This small, local restaurant serves excellent local food, mainly fresh fish and other locally raised, grown delicacies. The "Scholle" is outstanding, perfectly sautéed and lovingly plated. The comfy atmosphere allows you to enjoy your food and relax and refresh from you sightseeing adventures. The service was above and beyond excellent.
