It was good, but for the relatively high prices, I simply expected more flavor. Furthermore, we had to wait quite a long time for our food. I'd say it's well-suited for hotel guests, but I wouldn't come here specifically for the meal.

From the moment we entered the castle, we were impressed by the elegant atmosphere and historic architecture. The hotel has been lovingly restored and offers a perfect blend of tradition and modern comfort. We booked a three-day package with half-board and were completely satisfied. The room was not only spacious and stylishly furnished, but also very comfortable and quiet, ideal for restful nights. The quality of the food deserves special mention: dinner was a true highlight. The team truly outdid themselves with fresh, regional ingredients and creative dishes. The breakfast buffet was also varied and plentiful, providing the perfect start to the day. Fried eggs were decorated with artistic flowers made from vegetable pieces – a real eye-catcher. The service throughout the hotel was exceptionally friendly, courteous, and attentive. We felt welcome at all times, and attention was paid to every detail. The hotel's peaceful location was particularly pleasant, ensuring a relaxing stay without sacrificing any amenities. The restaurant at Burgellern Castle is definitely not your average r... read more A very select restaurant near Bamberg with a very atmospheric, rustic and elegant ambiance. The restaurant at Burgellern Castle is definitely not your average restaurant, but a place for special and memorable occasions, steeped in history. From the atmospheric grounds of the castle to the rooms, which are somewhat reminiscent of a Franconian Versailles. The menu is varied and there's something for every taste. I particularly liked the selection of Franconian specialties, so that even the culinary experience always has a connection to the region and its history. The dishes are expertly prepared, the product quality is excellent, and the service was very attentive, creating an almost family-like atmosphere and providing excellent advice on any questions we had. The beer menu with its own specialties is also particularly worth mentioning. There is also a wide selection of brandies and spirits, some of which are produced in-house. The price-performance ratio is a bit high, but it's absolutely justified given the quality of the products and the meticulous and tasteful work of the chef. Definitely a great place for special occasions and celebrations, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region.

A castle, surrounded by a nat... read more Our dog had been through weeks of stressful moving and were looking for a quiet place to relax. We found just that at this resort. A castle, surrounded by a natural park, a room with a park view, greeted by a chorus of birds. The breakfast had everything your heart could desire, with excellent specialties, and you still had the option to have something prepared in the kitchen. We ate the daily menu one evening a week and were pleasantly surprised every night. The quality of a Michelin-starred restaurant The staff were warm and welcoming and anticipated our every wish. The hotel is highly recommended. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the entire team, including the kitchen and service.
