the hype for this place is real, but I don't understand it. her fried tofu is gummy, her fake meats are gummy, and her early rolls are coated with ice. overall dissatisfied by the price and eating. the only thing they have is their sauces. View all feedback.

I had the orange soy chicken (that was definitely our favorite) and he had the spicy amazing soy chicken that was also really good (I loved the smokiness to sauce). they go mainly marinate soy lure what is what many of the better vegan places used in my old city. I want to go back!

At first, my like hurts from the food. at least, I really appreciate the full vegetarian menu on the back. but eating was so tasteless and overall lacking. nothing special, coarse texture.
I was so excited to get a good vegan Chinese food and thought that was the place after I read the other reviews. I went to Chia sen last night for lunch and got the lunch for order. I was told that the early part of the vegetarian soy lunch menu is made with ice and there are no substitutions. I ordered the soy chicken with brokkoli, which tasted like steamed textured plant protein with steamed brokkoli. After I had waited for one to ask for soy sauce, I heard someone at the reception, so I went by and asked for some. I then asked if I could see the dinner menu, and I guess these items are much more delicious than the lunch I ordered. I would have ordered the dinner menu if I had been aware, and I will try and do that again. But I also have carried out an order of pad thai for my man, and he reported that there was not much taste for the noodles and he was disappointed that there was no sweet beyond the bohnensprossen for the topping. the food came out super fast and I appreciated the free tee.
Chia Sen is in kind of a strange location in a strip mall in South Portland. However, they have an extensive menu of vegetarian items. If you like soy meat, they offer many options that you would typically find on a Chinese menu with soy beef, pork, or chicken. The vegetarian options are clearly labeled on a separate section of the menu. I've only tried the soy beef and chicken, and I've enjoyed them both quite a lot (the chicken' is my personal favorite). The folks at Chia Sen are always friendly, and service is always quick. They have a full bar, and there is tons of easy parking right out front. If you are staying close to the airport in Portland, this is always a good option for dinner.
