A great little casual dining experience with amazing food. Tuna tartar, Caesar salad, seafood chowder, grilled salmon were all very good. I would have liked a bit more anchovies in the crumble in my salad. The roasted Brussels which came with the salmon were yummy! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shade:
Large parties on the porch, after cocktails, command the whole space. You can’t hear yourself think, the waitstaff are challenged to hear you…it’s enough to ruin one’s dinner, which has some interesting choices on the menu specials. It’s only breakfast for me now. View all feedback.
It was our last dinner during our family vacation to the Portland area, and we are very glad we found Shade. Our server, January, was wonderful. While it is not an extensive menu, everyone’s dinner was delicious. The enclosed porch offered the perfect vacation feel — it was a great way to end our time together.

Shade needs a new more varied menu. The burger is very good but very messy to eat. More plated meals with less expensive prices. A club or Rueben sandwich are suggestions.
This was our second visit. Love the informal atmosphere. Nancy, our server was great along with the rest of the staff. We all had the lobster scampi special along with raw oysters as an appetizer. If you want a casual, comfy place to go have a great dinner, this is the place for you!
