We had lunch here and it was very good. Quite a limited menu but the service was excellent. Reading previous reviews since we came home I wondered if it was the same place, but as there was nowhere else to eat it must be the same restaurant. View all feedback.
What Robtt doesn't like about Brompton Forge:
I met up with a friend for a light lunch and had the fish cakes while she opted for the beef and onion panini. Both dishes were excellent and the chips were lovely. However, the restaurant was quite chilly on the cold day, despite the small log burner they had going. So make sure to dress warmly if you visit in winter. Apart from that, the coffee was good and there was a nice ambiance overall. View all feedback.
There were no other customers present, indicating that we should have been wary of our choice.
Stopped off for coffee after some shopping, fruit bread was lovely and light, home made fruit cake was delicious lots of fruit and just enough spices and very light, good coffee too so much so we wanted another cup reasonably priced, very clean and tidy, good selections of sandwiches, rolls, cakes etc, staff are lovely too would definitely recommend this place.
Very good for snacks and light meals. Lovely food, well prepared and good service. Good coffee. Reasonable selection of food for meals or just cake and a drink.
Have visited on numerous occasions and have felt recently something has happened here . A wonderful spot a nice building but that is about it now. I have never met such miserable staff and certainly need to be trained in customer service . We stood around in a practically empty t room and was totally ignored. Eventually we sat at a table and waited and waited and waited . The waitress proceeded to ignore us so I decided I better get up and order at the till . I really should have walked out because the coffee was ok but the cake was very dry . Would I return ? I certainly would not and I won't be recommend. Carry on to thornton dale if heading for pickering or stop at wykeham if heading towards scarbourgh.
Nice atmosphere. Strong coffee. Locals seemed to be using it. Friendly staff. We would go again. Facilities inside and out.
