We were visiting Scalea in December and while we like outdoor eating and drinking we needed a warm cozy place so we checked out Bar Genova and boy are we glad w... read more We were visiting Scalea in December and while we like outdoor eating and drinking we needed a warm cozy place so we checked out Bar Genova and boy are we glad we did. We had had drinks on the patio on our summer visit but...this time we discovered the cozy room in back. Drinks and aperitivo were top notch, but what caught my eye were the fish and chips and Hamburger. The fish and chips were the real deal, cod in a famiiar batter and the hamburger was large and delicious. Since we live in Sclalea a few months of the year we sometimes crave more American style cuisine and they nail it here. I've seen that they have American breakfast and on our next visit I'll be here for that. Drinks here have are a notch up from most places. Owner Luca is very friendly as is the whole staff. We'll be back next month.
