It was obviously Cedro and it was so in... read more My husband and I were at lanterns Blu last February enjoying a gelato and I noticed a cake that I had never seen before. It was obviously Cedro and it was so intriguing I bought one to taste. Ok so it was the best thing I have ever tasted. It was Cedro and I think made with almond flour so it tasted like a citrusy marzipan and I could not stop eating it. Good thing I bought a small one and took it home or I would have eaten an entire cake right then and there. The gelato is, of course top notch and the service friendly. But don't leave without sampling the cakes!

The girl who served us spoke good... read more After long walk on a hot summer afternoon, we bought some gelato at Lanterna Blu (also signposted at 'Jeni 's Bakery Cafe ' . The girl who served us spoke good English and had a great attitude. The quality was excellent and serving sizes generous. Very good value for money compared with many other gelato places in that part of Italy.

I have been going to this place for years and have neve... read more This cafe is centrally located in Scalea near the lower church of San Nicola, across from Il Metastasio. I have been going to this place for years and have never been disappointed. You can get a basic light lunch, coffee, tea, a great selection of homemade gelato, and the pastries are all house made and very, very good. I have had all of these at this place over the years and have never been disappointed. The prices are very reasonable. The owner's name is Jeni and she speaks English very well. She is also very accommodating and welcoming. If you are visiting Scalea, I would highly recommend a stop here. They are open early and stay open throughout the siesta hours and stay open till at least 10:00 p.m.
