Brasserie Le St Nicolas - Saumur

Nice terrasse and very nice service and good coffee and drinks. Since the brasserie was close to our hotel we frequented it in the morning for good coffee and in the afternoon/evening for a drink. Nice people watching opportunity.

Encouraged by an interesting Plat de jour and a good location in the old town in a pedestrian area. The menu had a couple of choices for each course although we struggled to make ourselves understood. I so wanted to give a better review but the food was local but boring and not much better than average

An excellent local bar in the historic centre of the beautiful Loire valley town of Saumur. Lovely good value home made set meals and snacks at lunchtime. Good choice of drinks, fairly priced. The interior of the bar is very comfortable with wall displays of vintage vehicles and music. Outside there are seats and tables where you can while away the hours in the sun, people gazing. The bar is open from very early morning to around 7.30 pm yet the hard working proprietor has a welcoming smile for all. A family business, this bar is a jewel of a find.

We see in all good notes on this little restaurant, and it is in fact my opinion, for this second passage, (we usually come back, because if we are not convinced. our appreciation will be made, (if you allow it well) , in capture metade, and we have done well. Cooking, we would like to compliment him by the way, as well as the right time.

Heartburn for this restaurant! the dishes are delicious and generous, a superb wine map including the vinho verde . or the wine of the region, the warm welcome. Thank you.
