The squash soup was so delightful that it could easily be considered a dessert option. The Friday fish fry was truly exceptional—definitely not the usual greasy kind. This place has become my go-to destination for Friday dinner. It’s absolutely worth the trip from Madison. I’ll be back soon! View all feedback.
What Michael Gulden doesn't like about Sauk-prairie Grill:
I was really disappointed. The prices were way too high for what we received. The only thing that seemed fresh were the omelettes, but otherwise, there was an overwhelming amount of orange food. The biscuits were orange and stale, the potatoes were old, hard, and also orange, and the fried chicken was overcooked and orange as well. The sausage was undercooked and mushy. Cajun Huhn Pasta was excellent. Also bought a giant cinnamon roll and one of the apple strudel cinnamon rolls to try in the morning. You smell amazing! I will definitely be back
Sleeper surprise, never expected such unique and amazing food! Great service. Homemade goodness, everything
We 've gone for breakfast before and it was very nice. This time my husband and I decided to try their dinner service for date night. We were very favorably impressed! I had the short ribs, my husband had the fish. Both were tasty and beautifully plated. The service was top-notch. Prices were also very good. We never get dessert but kind of had to as everything looked so good in the case. I had a wonderful coconut cream pie (which is hard to get right between the fluffy topping and the denser cream base). You can see that they are really trying to create a more upscale atmosphere. We will definitely go again.
Good food...not outrageous prices...awesome cheese curds stuffed mushrooms!
While the French toast had a nice cinnamon flavor, it was clearly sitting out for a while—it was hard and cold. I wish I could say that the mimosas were great, but the only highlight was their price. With the restaurant's reopening, we had higher hopes. Unfortunately, the server wasn't very friendly either. Overall, it was just a disappointing experience.
