We visited this restaurant for our anniversary and birthday dinners when we first relocated to the area. After about eight years away, we returned and were pleased to find that the place has improved significantly. It’s less formal now, with a more diverse menu that offers a wider range of prices. We only tried the appetizers, which were large and delicious. We really enjoyed sitting on the terrace, especially with t... View all feedback.
What Wilson N doesn't like about The Basin:
For our main dishes, we ordered the lamb shank and seafood risotto. While both were tasty, neither stood out as particularly memorable. For dessert, we tried the molten lava cake, but it was disappointing as it wasn't molten at all. It was rather dry and tasted more like a flourless chocolate cake, which was not mentioned on the menu. Overall, it was a nice evening, but it didn’t quite meet our expectations. View all feedback.
Update: Just wanted to pat myself on the back for calling that this dump would be closed in short order. Good riddance.
So very Sad... A really impressive restaurant...We blissfully dined there three times took meals out Impressed 100%. From Appetizer to Dessert everything was fantastic. Flawless. The Details: Loved the Reidel glasses for the Testarossa Pinot Noir. Who knew guacamole and chips could be sublime? They were...the chips were warm...perfectly salted... Covid killed many businesses...We were very very unhappy that Chef D. had to close. He is brilliant. So talented...

Permanently closed since May 15th. That's sad I didn't get to return one last time. I wonder why.
The restaurant is small but charming. The food is decent, though not exceptional. We visited as a group, and the waitstaff were excellent—very attentive and enthusiastic about suggesting drinks. The menu is somewhat limited, but it's not bad; however, it doesn't quite live up to some of the hype. We sampled nearly everything on the menu, but nothing stood out as particularly noteworthy. We also enjoyed the desserts and ordered several bottles of wine. While none of the wines were particularly impressive, they were on the pricier side. Overall, it’s an improvement over a typical family restaurant, but it doesn't compare to more upscale dining options. It's a great place to hang out, especially since it tends to be lively and bustling.
