His enthusiasm is totally true to his word and to the dishes prepared by his wife Velia. Whatever he recommends…absolutely delicious! The restaurant is located within Sapri in the piazza next to a church where the bells ring on the half hour….. I enjoyed lunch and several dinners, each time wonderful food. ‘You must try the porcini with pasta as the mushrooms came fresh today!…and this home-made local cheese!’ Salvatore watches over everyone dining to making sure every morsel is experienced. He frowned when I could not finish….. however, that did not stop him from bringing dolce/desserts! And next the homemade liquors…. myrtle, fennel, dark licorice, fragolino, and limoncello….each one so full of flavor. His smile and his stories are delightful. Next time in Sapri…Try this!!!!

The upside; the food was good, courgette flower fritters were excellent as was the octopus salad and spaghetti al pomodoro. The downside; did you ever get the feeling that you were annoying a waiter simply by your presence? The staff in this restaurant, while not overtly rude, were far from helpful and quite disorganised. My wife was given the wrong main course (the waiter argued that she was in error) while a side salad that I ordered with my main never arrived. All in all we were glad to pay and leave and I got the impression that the feeling was reciprocated by the staff who struck me as being unaccustomed to foreign visitors and the concept of efficient service. What a shame because the food is very good.
