I tried a Japanese vegan restaurant, Holistic Bio Cafe Veggy Way, in Sapporo at noon today. And that is the second time I have tasted vegan ramen in Japan. The taste differed slightly from Tokyo, but it was still delicious. It seemed that the plant meat
I had the vegan miso ramen and my boyfriend had the soy meat rice bowl everything was so delicious and we were blown away by how good the fake meat was! Sadly we were too full after our main meal to have anything sweet, but there were a lot of tempting vegan cakes/ice cream sundaes on the menu which I would have liked to try... A great lunch spot, especially if you've just done the Mt. Maruyama hike which starts and ends nearby!
Visited for snacks. The soybean icecream is a MUST, the onigiri was nice too. They also have vegan lunches but the last order ends at 2pm.
I have no idea how this place has so many amazing reviews. It was awful. Everything is fried and there is little ventilation so it’s hard to breathe in this place. The service is slow but busy so that can’t be helped. Now to the really bad part… The soy meat could not have been worse. It’s like eating fatty pork meat without any actual meat, just fat! Disgusting and chewy. The sauce is even worse. Too sweet and over powering. The vegetables consisted of a huge bowl of cabbage, and a few measly slices of cucumber and pickles. More vegetables and less disgusting “meat” please!
