Reviews summary

A lively, family-friendly spot famous for its legendary root beer floats and generous portions. Bright, clean dining with views into the bottling area and free parking make it ideal for casual lunches and group outings. Menu hits include fish & chips, wraps and hearty sandwiches, while some items (notably a falafel burger) and seasoning can be inconsistent. Service swings from warm and attentive to inattentive, and reservation handling has occasionally failed. Great for dessert seekers and relaxed meals, but expect uneven kitchen and seating experiences.

What gabby dolechek dislikes about Fitz's Soco:

We had a reservation for 8 at 7:00pm. We all arrived and checked in at 6:45pm and assumed we may wait a few minutes until our reservation time to be seated. 7:00 came and went, people who arrived after us were seated first, and other parties with reservations were getting irritated. Two members of our group left (our group was now 6). The host would constantly leave the front for a while, but returned to seat the oth... View all feedback.

The menu offered a wide variety of options, the food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch! It's a spacious and comfortable venue, and the root beer is absolutely fantastic!

The atmosphere and service at this restaurant are excellent, but the food is just average. I wouldn't recommend the BBQ platter—the sauce had an unusual flavor that was not very enjoyable. While I appreciate the effort to create a sauce using root beer, the result was off-putting. Additionally, the turkey in the platter resembled spam more than actual turkey breast, and its texture was quite odd. On a positive note, the fried pickles and gumbo were decent; I've had both before and have always enjoyed them. They also offer a unique selection of floats that I definitely recommend trying for dessert—they're delicious! Although my experience with the food wasn't the best, I'm still looking forward to returning and trying a different dish or indulging in one of their floats.

For those looking for vegetarian options, there are salads, fried pickles, artichoke dip, and pizzas, and they’re happy to accommodate your preferences for any dish. As for parking, there’s plenty of space available. The service is dine-in.

I have never been to any restaurant that had a more rude hostess. My son chooses Fitz's as his birthday restaurant every year. We enjoy going there. This year however we were definitely disappointed and almost walked out to go somewhere else. Had this not been a birthday treat for my son we would not have stayed. We walked in and were not greeted. The person at the hostess stand literally looked at us without saying a word. I told her how many in our party. She grabbed menus and started walking. Again not saying follow me or anything. She threw the menus down in a heap and walked away. Your hostess is so important. They set the mood for the entire dining experience. Eating out has become so expensive that you need to be choosy where you spend your money. I will guarantee you are losing money by continuing to employ someone who is sabotaging your restaurant. Even if people stay, they are immediately in a bad mood. You are doing a disservice to all of your wait staff who have to go above and beyond to overcome the inital seating situation. Thankfully our server was amazing. Management needs to do better. Do more training. Pay more attention. Come around and check on guests. You are in the service business and the service of your hostess was incredibly poor. I'm not sure we will be back. There are too many options for good food and good atmosphere.

Went there for sundaes on Sunday with our corvette club. The service is great, their food is okay but their ice cream deserts are limited. It looked like their serving portions, burgers and such are huge so if you’re hungry you won’t be disappointed! The Cajun gumbo that I ordered was too spicy and I couldn’t eat it. Over all a nice place.

We had visited the original Fitz's and loved it, so we decided to check out this location too. It is just as good as the original! I tried the Colossale Pork Steak, and while it was definitely huge, it was a bit dry. The root beer BBQ sauce was tasty but not the best I've ever had, which is why I gave it four out of five. Overall, I'd rate the food: 4/5.

As for accessibility, the bar has a ramp for wheelchairs. It's not located at the front of the bar, but it is available.

We stopped here for lunch and I can say it was definitely worth it! The burgers and pizzas were very delicious! I do not command much dessert, but felt the need to order a float because I never had one. I ordered a strawberry pop boat and it was definitely worth it! The first time in a long time that a restaurant brought me to order a dessert after dinner. I even bought a 4 pack of diet cream soda bottles. I love it here!

Yummy root beer float. The food was decent there, but didn't seem to be special. On the front you can buy 6-Packs root beer and pop. I'd just come for the swimmer when I came back.

Beautiful, clean restaurant with windows that look into the filling plant. Very attentive server with fast service. I had the Dirty Shirley who is Shirley Temple Soda with vodka over ice, and I enjoyed it. Ordered the Coney Dog with onion rings and it was delicious! We found out we could share a float for dessert, which was great as they are huge! I'm definitely back.

Amazing burger! The toasted ravioli were incredible, and the fish tacos were the best I've had in ages! You definitely don't want to miss them!
