I used to be obsessed with this place, like every week my girlfriend and I come here and always sit and eat here. the food was great, amazing and satisfying.... A few days ago, my girlfriend and I come in as usual and arrange the same things, their canak attack and their omelets. We noticed a Natt was on our rice. Best Breakfast in town<br/ <br/ I'm a breakfast guy and I love this eatery!!! Amazing coffee and their breakfast are sublime. I like that the breakfast are not typical and the atmosphere is like in Hawaii. Service is great.
The weekend was scorching hot miserable. So what do friends suggest doing during a heat wave. Take a hike. Not the ‘go away you weirdo’ take a hike. But literally let’s go to some desert mountain and hike. It was awful. I couldn’t wait to be done with it and sit in the air conditioned car. I wasn’t keen on trying a new restaurant but Cdj suggested Island Style Cafe since 1) he’s been there with his Hawaiian buddies and 2) there’s a/c in the restaurant. Island Style Cafe is located in Tierrasanta.
Great food, loved the BBQ chicken and Korean chicken as well as the seafood plate.
ONO !!!. For all you white folk, I am not saying Oh, no! I am saying the most wonderful thing a cook can hear in Hawaii! Ono! I lived in Hawaii for 54 years, (got a tag on my back says 'made in Hawaii ' and this place has the most authentic and ono Hawaiian dishes, I 've found in San Diego. They have that Hawaiian-touch and cook everything to perfection! I keep going back for more and taking all my friends and family!
Felt Like Home. Just went to Island Style for lunch and was blown away. Being 7th generation Hawaiian I'm always searching for a true Hawaiian plate lunch my search has ended. Island Style had the most incredible Kalbi beef and bar b que chicken. Her macaroni salad was reminiscent of my Mom's and Aunties soooooooooooo ONO! The helpings are abundant my girlfriend and I shared a lunch and were full. If you want a fantastic experience and to feel like Ohana (family) head to Island Style Cafe.
