The young waiter went o... read more We were looking for a late lunch for ten of us, not always easy to find a place that can accommodate. The staff were very accommodating. The young waiter went out his way to look after us. Food was excellent with good sized portions and good value for money. We had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone.

A winery converted into an old... read more Despite mixed TripAdvisor reviews, we decided to give Mazon a try simple because it looked amazing (plus, it was full of locals . A winery converted into an old school style bar/café (restaurant might be stretching the definition a little... , Mazon looks about as authentic as you can get, though I am sure there are many concessions to make it so. The staff are brusque and efficient, just the right side of comedically unwelcoming, but this kinda adds to the atmosphere: I mean no negative comments here they are perfectly fine and undoubtedly friendly just a little terse, like they're playing to character. However, the house wine was most agreeable (as one would expect in such a wine themed place , and the food excellent. The menu is comprehensive, and the seafood seems to be a bit of a speciality. It's not the cheapest nor the fastest (nor would we want or expect that given their whole traditional look and feel thing , but we were impressed with the quality. Seating is on benches, and you will almost certainly be sharing your table at busier times. The overall experience was very positive. I am sure many local Santanderians (sp? take their friends there when they visit, just to enjoy the whole old school thing.
