We visited on a Monday during the day. We had the beach mostly to ourselves for most of the day. The Pier was populated all day. But, there are bathrooms available which were cleaned continuously and well taken care of. The beach is clean. There were lifeguard stations where lifeguards are doing a great job monitoring. We parked along the Pier for $15. There are plenty of places to eat on the Pier as well as lots of... View all feedback.
What Mariela O doesn't like about Santa Monica Zombie Crawl:
if you are ever visiting LA, it's a definite must on your itinerary, as a local I don't go out here because its a true tourist trap, sorry just not my fav. Unless there's an event or on a weekday non holiday. If you're a first timer, then yes, I would say go and explore. Parking is a nightmare though and traffic on the street let's not get even started haha But do go, don't let that stop you, its like that all over L... View all feedback.

I've been coming here for years, but sadly, there's been little improvement. The pier could use some cleaning and upkeep to look better. While the view is nice, parking is a hassle. Santa Monica is great for tourists and first-timers, but as a local, I wouldn't recommend it.
Cherry popping! My fiance had never been to the Santa Monica Pier. And I have been a few times. So, naturally I wanted to pop his cherry lol The pier is a lot of fun! It's always so windy. And crowded. We went on a Saturday, so there was a lot of people. And man, the ramp getting down to the pier is easy. But leaving and having to go back up that ramp is so hard and tiring lol The pier itself was fun. The carnival games and Ferris wheel are there. There's lots of food options around too. You can find some good seafood places along the pier and some other options too. Nice place to hang out and spend the day. The whole pier and surrounding area smell like weed.
Santa Monica Pier is the end of route 66 (2,448 miles) and actually I didn't know before it is a historical place. I hear about the pier but only think it famous because it is close to Hollywood and has amusement park. It is Monday night but still lots of people. Surprisingly, at night the weather is colder than I expected. I thought in the summer (the end of July) the weather in CA will be very hot. I thought wrong, lol. Maybe because it next to the water that is why it is windy and lower temperature. I enjoy some snacks and games. I didn't go on a ride because the line was too long and I still have more sightseeing place to go.
SM Pier is a large pier at the foot of Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica, California, It is a tourist destination and popular landmark with a small amusement park, concession stands, and areas for views and fishing. This pier gets crowded pretty quickly especially on weekends. Moreover, it has a spectacular view of the ocean, the beach and Malibu. As for parking, there is a huge parking lot next to the pier but it gets full quickly. I have been to this pier 4 times only in the last decade, for I am not fond of expensive parking. If you're a tourist this is a MUST see landmark to visit in LA. Overall, it's a nice and very popular pier.
