Kayndaves - Santa Monica

I live near Kay N Daves and I love coming here for happy hour. They have amazing appetizers that are inexpensive and good drinks. Don't expect amazing margaritas, though. Order their white Sangria, instead! Great to meet up with friends after work, but try to be early, it does get packed.

I'm from Mexico City and the taste of their Mexican dishes is spot-on authentic! You can tell the quality of the ingredients and the care they put in cooking them. They have huitlacoche quesadillas made with home made tortillas! If you know what that is, you know how rare and exquisite that is. If you don't, go there and try one!

I have been a Kay 'n Dave 's devotee even after moving away from the Westside. Apparently I 'm not alone as this small, kid-friendly Tex-Mex restaurant continues to pull in a steady stream of customers. The entire menu is noted to be 'lardless regardless ', and several vegetarian items are offered, including my favorite, the Vegetarian Burrito. Located across the street from the Brentwood Country Mart, parking can occasionally be challenging, but with chips and salsa so good I once bought them as an entire to-go order, I 'd argue it 's worth any hassle you may encounter.

Food is excellent and the place is very comfortable. Tend to eat early so it isn't noisy. Fresh and somewhat healthy. Great portions too. Enjoyed the leftovers the next day too.

We always LOVE Kay n Dave's! Took two friends who are visiting from out-of-town in and they loved it too. Food is great and the service is too.
