Beautiful service, ambience and food. Exceptional experience and stars overall. Janet is outstanding, knows the menu and paced our dinner perfectly. We opted to share courses the dip with its crusty cheese top was wonderful; the bruschetta with four different flavors was a first for us and once again wonderful; for the third we picked the smoked stone mushroom soup which we found too smoky for our taste; and the bran... What User doesn't like about Terracotta Wine Bistro:
We had a wonderful dinner last night. The food was great. Service well... except we shared a salad and it would have been better if you put it in the kitchen for us. We also needed a to-go box, and we would have preferred if you had put it in the kitchen. The prices are now high and the service could have been better at the above points. I was surprised. A wonderful dining experience. Great food service. We had the bruschetta (4 options) and it was excellent). Each cut in half, made it easy to share for 2 people. Great flavors. We also had the salmon salad a smaller version of the entree. The raspberry vinaigrette is light delightful. Good wine selections to go either way the meals. Super friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
TerraCotta is always a warm, welcoming space with very good food and wine, and the pleasure of a jazz guitarist on Thursday evenings. We went on a Thursday to enjoy the music as well as the food and ambience. We shared the ahi plate, a bruschetta starter, and the Portuguese pasta. Bruschetta were all excellent and the pasta was very good, though we agreed we'd prefer less sausage and perhaps a few more clams. The ahi plate was somewhat disappointing the tuna sashimi pieces each had a layer of fibrous tissue in them, making them difficult to cut or unpleasant to chew. They also didn't taste as fresh as tuna sashimi I'd had just two days earlier at another restaurant. They were described as having a sauce of soy and ginger neither of us could taste any ginger, and the soy tinged sauce was a little skimpy for the necessary mopping with tuna bits. So that dish may need a little work or better ingredients, but everything else we ate and drank was very good, as was the service and value. It's such a pleasant place, and I wouldn't hesitate to go there again.
This delightful restaurant is a gem! I was introduced to it on a Santa Fe School of Cooking restaurant tour; I was so impressed that I dined there the next day (for dinner). The food was superb (delicious red pepper bisque, followed by a flawless flounder francaise, then capped by a piece of Key Lime pie). The wine that I had with the meal was perfect! The food and service were outstanding, the value is way above the norm (even for Santa Fe), and the atmosphere is delightful (I dined on the adorably cute front porch)! I highly recommend and cannot wait to go back on a future visit to the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at TerraCotta. The restaurant was awarm and inviting. The staff recognized our time for theatre and presented us with delicious salad and entrees in a quiet , relaxed atmosphere. The salmon was perfect and the crab cake was delicious! The staff was friendly and quite attentive! We will return our next time in Santa Fe!
The food here is always very good. The ambiance raises TerraCotta even higher. It's such a pleasure to dine on the front porch, looking out over the lush garden to the people and the cars on the street, being with other diners and perhaps their well behaved dogs, reveling in a warm summer evening, with American Songbook jazz playing in the background.
