Tony Alba's - Santa Cruz

They gave us complementary bread, which was cool, especially given that the spaghetti and the TWO meatballs we got cost $14. That seems pretty steep for a seemingly fast-food Italian place. Spaghetti was not even that special. Meatballs were good though. Nice and accommodating staff though. Interesting that they had an ice cream station, too.

I'm so bummed these have closed down! They had the BEST pesto chicken sandwich and their salads were delicious! The pizza- OMG! One of the specialty pizza's was made with white sauce- I could eat a whole pizza to myself! Their pasta, they just had such a great selection of delicious Italian dishes, it's truly sad to see such a great establishment gone in my area.

Attention Santa Cruzans: Tony Alba's is offering 50% off their pizzas and salads! Call ahead and pick up to go. We got 3 specialty pizzas (Bianca, Vegie Meatball for just $50 plus I gave them a generous tip, since their employees apparently offered to work without pay (Santa Cruz Sentinel 4/8/20).

This place is almost always closed. Tonight I went in at 8:14pm they told me they were closed! What pizza place closes at 8pm? They told me there is not enough business past 8pm? What? That's not what yelp said. Just down the Street Lillian's was open with still a line pout the door, same with Crepe place.

Just finished dinner tonight. The Lasagna dish was over cooked and burnt. It was more expensive items on menu. Too bad as people are very nice and service good. Should have complained but hungry. I expected better and disappointed since owners are there to oversee quality. Restaurant prices high for take out establishment.
