This is an excellent Middle Eastern restaurant. The falafel burger and the combination special are definitely worth a try. It might just be the best (and possibly the only) Halal spot in Santa Cruz. Please note that only the chicken and lamb options are Halal. The restaurant offers ample seating and features a double parking deck above the street. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Falafel House:
Our meal was subpar and we left hungry. Very stingy with serving size. The vegetarian plate only had 3 HALF falafels, which were dry and not flavorful. Meat combo was just a few pieces of meat on a bed of lettuce. Had a weird, unfriendly interaction with the cashier. View all feedback.
My first time having this type food. I really enjoyed my sandwich. The other person I was with ordered the chicken combo plate along with the sandwich. I tried his chicken and another type of meat (not sure what it was) but both delicious. We will definitely be back.
Prices are relatively low, but portions are small too. It's not that bad though, helps to not overeat. Babaganoush tasted great, hummus was disappointing, falafel are cut in half so really not too many of them on a plate.
It is delicious , but I didn't like that they only gave me 3 small falafels in the veggie combo plate.
Beautiful place for a fast bite. definitely recommend. We have the special combination plate (lamb), the chicken swanm plate and the falafel salad and all were great. I personally loved the humus that came with the combination plate.
The food here is always fresh, carefully prepared, and wonderfully spiced. Beats the heck out of those chain Falafel and Gyro places. And it has character. Try the soup! Good food, good value, convenient location for whatever you are doing in downtown Santa Cruz
