What Tern Ary doesn't like about Taichi Pot Shabu Shabu:
Beware of their predatory tipping system it can be easy to miss if you don't check your receipt carefully. They charged a mandatory 20% tip (service charge) in tiny font, then asked for additional 18% tip after the original 20% tip and sales tax 9.6% are included.Food wise, the Prime Angus Belly was our favorite. We recommend against Australian Lamb it had a strong smell/aftertaste due to not being fresh. View all feedback.
This is our second visit to this restaurant, and it was just as great as the first time! We ordered the Supreme AYCE, and everything was delicious. Our servers, Stephen and Yuko (I hope I spelled their names correctly), were attentive and made sure to check if we were still hungry, which we appreciated! They were incredibly friendly and helpful. The unlimited shabu shabu was excellent, with great food quality and delicious soup stock. The restaurant is spacious, making it an ideal choice for large groups. All the staff, including Stephen, were very friendly, and we truly enjoyed both the food and the service. Food: 5/5
Stephen's service is excellent! He suggested an off-menu hotpot broth that tastes fantastic. The food is amazing as always; it's definitely one of the best shabu shabu spots in the Bay Area. I highly recommend it! Food: 5/5
It's my first time eating at Taichi, and we really enjoyed the experience! The staff members were super friendly, esp our waiter Stephen who helped us ensure we get our food in a timely manner and he was also so on top of things! The meat and vegetable options are extensive, compared to other places I've been. Everything was so delicious. I will definitely be coming back for more! :D
Not bad for AYCE hotpot. Really liked the Tonkotsu broth and the meat quality was excellent; lamb was my favorite. Also they have baby corn which almost nowhere else has. Go before 6:30 and you can get a discount.
