Star Udupi Cafe (santa Clara)

I am giving this restaurant a three-star rating, primarily because my friend enjoyed her Dosa. However, I found the vada and Sambar to be sour, indicating that the batter for the Vada was not fresh. On the positive side, the Pongal and coconut chutney were tasty. The service was disappointing, with the staff member who brought our To-Go container placing it in front of me in a way that caused it to open in my face. Despite calling him multiple times to pay the bill at the counter, he did not respond. When we eventually paid the bill, the staff member simply held the tab to scan the card without informing us of the total amount. The coffee was also underwhelming. Additionally, the high chairs available for children were a nice touch. The happy hour Dosa portion was sufficient for one person.

This restaurant is located in a convenient spot and offers food that is slightly above average. They have a good selection for vegetarians, but the taste may not be the best.

The ambiance is pleasant, the food is tasty, and the staff is polite. There was a friendly Punjabi man who made the experience even better. He recommended the live dosa to my family, and it was delicious with a variety of options.

The onam sadhya was amazing. All the items were really good and a very fulfilling meal! Totally recommend it to everyone to try it.
