What Jonathan L doesn't like about Amakai Japanese Cuisine:
I stopped by the area to explore restaurants and found this one to be less crowded with no wait. My previous experience with their ramen made me skeptical about its quality, so we opted for two sushi rolls instead - the white and green dragon rolls. The rolls were average in taste, nothing special, but on the pricier side as expected for Japanese cuisine. Despite the friendly staff, the lack of satiety and high price... View all feedback. Small place but it's very nice. You can watch them make your sushi. Sushi there is top notch. I recommend getting at least one hand roll. If you go as a group of 4 or more you can make reservations.Parking: Very busy strip and not a lot of parking for how busy it gets. View all feedback.

While some patrons are captivated by the freshness and creativity of dishes like the Lady in Red and Spicy Unagi rolls, others find certain offerings, such as the teriyaki salmon and hamachi nigiri, lacking in quality. Diners appreciate the inviting atmosphere and friendly service, though the compact space might challenge larger groups. Despite occasional doubts about value for money, especially for sushi on the pricier side, many leave satisfied, excited to return and explore more of the menu. Overall, Amakai is a must-try for sushi enthusiasts.
Good selection of sushi and rolls with a reasonable price. Cosy and yet spacious inside. Extremely friendly and friendly server. Definitely recommend.
Amazing food and customer service! Fast and delicious cuisine.
The sushi was quite fresh and much to choose on the menu. The staff was very friendly! Good sushi and decent price for the Bay Area.
