Hidden gem in SB. So I wanted to try a B&B in SB but they were all booked out and most don’t go for less than $500 a night on a 2 night minimum. What a wonderful and pleasant surprise I got. Newly remodeled, fantastic shower, impeccably clean room. I am thankful I found this place and highly recommend it. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Orange Tree Inn:
I stayed here in an upper floor and this was fine and roomy for one night. That room was a double- double with high ceilings. That was Sept 2018. The lower floor room with a queen was pretty basic but I could not get past the noxious cleaner or bug spray smells. I packed up and left after 30 minutes March 2022. I can see this place being loud if you’re toward the front. View all feedback.
Great Room, Great location, Great service. Nice and simple renovated room, laminate flooring, tv, iron, blow dryer, coffee maker. AC worked great! And the towels were soft, not scratchy! Service was awesome, allowed us to check in an hour early. Price was unbeatable for the location. Room smelled fresh and clean when we walked in. No old stale smell like a lot of other motels. Quiet evening slept great. Would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend.
For a motel, I was pleasantly impressed. You'll get the same accommodations as a hotel, but at a lower rate. The best part is the location, it's only a few blocks away from downtown SB and right next to a 7-11 AMPM for a quick snack run. The bed was pretty comfortable, bathroom is modern, the A/C works well, and the room was clean. There's also a pool, but I can't speak to it's quality as I didn't use it. Definitely recommend.
At first glance, Room 105 looks good modern. There's a nightstand that's propped up against the adjoining door to next room. The lamp on it doesn't work because there's no electrical outlet behind it because of that adjoining door there's no access under the bed. Around the bed, there's a metal frame that's hard not to bang your shoes; your toes would hurt if you're bare feet. It makes a loud bang everytime we hit it even as we try to avoid it, we'd forget it's there. We can hear the noise above us, the banging from the metal around the bed also heavy foot steps. Very loud. There's not enough towel rack for 2 people to use. There wasn't enough hangers. The lightbulb over the desk didn't work. Very dark in the room unless we opened the drapes sacrifice our privacy. The one star is for the location.

Wanted to give one star because of my bad experience. Plus one because of the front desk guy on the morning when I checked out. 1. No hot water in shower, took half an hour to fix it. 2. Tried calling front desk with the phone in room, and phone didn’t work. So I had to use my own phone to call them. 3. Finally after taking a shower, hair dryer didn’t work. 4. When front desk came in the second time, he didn’t put on his mask. 5. When I ask for a discount due to the very unpleasant experience, front desk rejected me and basically said my issue wasn’t a big deal. Message to this hotel: Get some empathy. Treat your customers like customers. People pay money to stay at your place, and their time is valuable after a long day. If I pay $80+ for one night, basic things should work, period. No thanks, I won’t come again. Additional note: the front desk guy on the second morning when I checked out was pretty nice and reasonable. But unfortunately it’s too late to change my opinion.
