GyuKaku Santa Monica

Food was ok, service was not friendly or welcoming. I've lived in Japan for years and eaten at Japanese BBQYakiniku restaurants all of the world and many, many times. The food was good but could be better. The friendliness of staff left a lot to be desired

The restaurant is not like any other Gyu, it is more modern and i was impressed. The table layout is nice and offers options for quiet couple areas and group tables with a view. The food was really good as it always is at Gyu. They didn’t have happy hour yet because they just opened, but assured it would come. It was busy with a wait time and well worth it. Book on Open Table to get in and seated faster. Recommend

Our dining experience this evening was good,however, some of the food quality was just average. Our NY Steak was very tough and dry and our noodles were small in portion and dried out.Service was very good, as everyone was attentive to our needs. The environment was pleasant and noise levels were fairly low, considering the restaurant’s special occasion.We are looking forward to returning here in Santa Monica as it is much closer to our favourite Torrance location

Everyone from the staff were so kind and accommodating. Cordi and Cindi were phenomenal in providing the best dining service and overall experience. The food was amazing, in fact one of our best experiences at Gyu! We are regulars at the Pico location but after our evening at the Santa Monica location its quite clear this is our new favorite spot!! Thank you so much

Service was slow, and it was disappointing we did not receive the soft opening discount, happy hour, our a local employee Santa Monica discount. Otherwise, still delicious like other gyukakus
