This is a must visit while in Santa Fe. It’s such a cool vibe and they have a kids playground right in the middle of the restaurant! They had live music from 4-6 and a beautiful outdoor patio. I had the vegetarian frito pie and wow! The chili was perfect, definitely homemade. Also, they’re the home of the famous ice cream potato so we had to try it. It looks like a potato but it’s cocoa covered ice cream and it was s... View all feedback.
What Ceci Crisan doesn't like about Cowgirl Bar & Grill:
Upon walking into cowgirl bbq the outdoor seating was lovely but we we?re quickly told that unless we wanted to wait we would have to sit inside so we chose not to wait and we went inside. I recommend outside. Inside was cramped and and stuffy. Interms of the food it was not fresh and had been cooked a while. We had a platter of chicken, brisket, ribs and split it($22) The chicken was dry and the meat was not tender... View all feedback.
First they ask for the vegan menu. they have some vegetarian elements on the regular menu, but there is a separate vegan menu. we ordered the chili and the mushrooms. both were delicious and very fresh. the chili was on the sweet side, and maybe that's the santa Fe style. we started with vegan green Chile frits, but I wouldn't get them back because the fries weren't crispy. in the consideration of other tables, that seemed to be the norm.
I wasn’t sure what to expect as I could find no recent reviews of their vegan dishes. They didn’t seem to have a physical vegan menu and the hostess wasn’t sure about having any vegan items at all, but our waitress instantly knew what I was talking about when I asked about a jerk tofu platter. She also recommended we try the watermelon “steak” salad (a slab of watermelon flavored with tajin and balsamic glaze under mixed greens and sprinkled with candied pecans) without the feta cheese. I was admittedly nervous when the jerk tofu came out looking like two rectangles of grilled tofu with rice and beans, but the flavor of the jerk sauce was incredible! I wish I could buy that sauce and put it on everything! The tofu itself was also a deliciously smokey flavor. The watermelon salad was refreshing too. I was just so impressed that this BBQ joint had more than one vegan non-side item, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting! I'll wait here on Thursday night, just 10 minutes. asked host for vegan menus when they packed the menus (I guess it's not online anymore, as some other reviews mentioned). we ordered the avocado toast; it could have been roasted for longer, but it was good. also ordered the mushroom tacos; they brought animal cheese sour cream with him ordered the chili, it has a spicy bite on it. I asked the server to insert a piece of brot with the chili; he gave me three tortillas
I am encouraged to cowgirl bbq by the reviews and was not disappointed. I actually forgot to ask for the vegan menu, but the main menu had dishes that could be made vegan. I had the veggie chili, which was very tasteful and the server immediately knew that I was looking for a vegan meal and underbed the maisbrot for tortillas. the bar is really funny, has a great selection of beer and cocktails. great place!
Wow! what a great menu. I had the idiot tofu and loved him. also the vegan chili sounded amazing. next time!
