What User doesn't like about Landgasthof Rebstock:
as we had heard good about the stammhaus, we hoped that the deputy would be good at the Rhine. you sit on the Rhine with good weather, but that was already. the map can be overlooked and hardly anything regional. in particular the wine card invites you to cry, the choice is more than temperate. that a thorn field is offered in the middle of a wine region as the only dry red wine, speaks for you, but even in white win... Excellent placement on the edge of the centre of town, near the castle but mercifully at the foot of the steep hill. Spacious and comfortable al fresco dining in mellow surroundings with beautiful views of the Rhein valley. Relaxed and friendly service and I can certainly recommend the schnitzel with mushroom and bacon sauce with french fries.
We went to St. Goar for a weekend getaway and decided to start our weekend with a cocktail and light food in this beer garden. The location is beautiful and there is a playground next door that is ideal for children. Perfect, right? Not long. Our good mood was soon damped when the waitress spilled our cocktails over us. Accidents happened and we were not too locked out. However, it took 45 minutes to get us replacement drinks (even if the restaurant was not excessively busy) and an hour to replace the food that had been drunk in alcohol. Once the food was served, we asked for some Mayo and ketchup for the pommes, just to be spun and say that every customer is only entitled to a Mayo or ketchup basically give us a talk about how much Mayo we were allowed. While we waited for the Mayo, we ordered another drink. The Mayo lasted 20 minutes and the new drinks an hour. Our second drink, an aperol spray, was served for the second time in a glass half the size of the first (but for the same price). Between all this, one of the waiters brought my child to tears when she gave us a long talk about how to drive around to get to the playground and not climb over the fence. I see that climbing over the fence is not the right thing, but my child wasn't the first thing to do. In fact, I had jumped German children (and parents) over the fence in the last two hours. They survived without a disgusting talk. We were a group of three women and a child, all English speakers from different countries. We were not loud or rude and just wanted to enjoy a pretty cocktail in a beautiful environment. Too bad this place turned out so bad. I wouldn't advise anyone to visit this beer garden. Being polite and offering a good service should not be a brainer.
Rebstock has a menu of reasonable size which offers local meats and fish of high quality. The main dining room is located through the bar and while not particularly special, is comfortable and pleasant. The night we visited we were the only ones in the main dining room. Our group of 4 ordered rump steak with pepper sauce, whole trout almondine and pork steaks. Everything tasted good but the prices were certainly higher than in the surrounding area. The tab for our group without appetizers and 2 glasses of wine, 1 cola and 1 beer was nearly 100 euro. Everyone enjoyed their food so the evening was pleasant, but a bit more costly than other places nearby.

We stayed in a lovely Apartment about 300 meters away from this gem for three nights. We ate here twice and would have gone for three, but it is closed on Tuesday. The wait staff and chef are so kind and the food is incredible. We had a dish of pork medallions with mushrooms and noodles. The dish was so well seasoned, moist, large, and delicious. Neither of us could finish our portions. They have daily specials and be adventurous--the chef is very talented and the creations from the kitchen are not to be missed!
