What User doesn't like about Shima At The Sundial Beach Resort:
We arrived a few minutes early, but were told we couldn't be seated because we booked through OpenTable. They insisted that we should have called the restaurant directly. I even showed them my OpenTable reservation along with the confirmation email. They didn't suggest an alternative time or offer to have us come back another day. We ended up going to Matzaluna, where they were very accommodating and friendly! View all feedback.
The chef was entertaining, but his eating was so bland. it really lacked in taste. After the cook had gone, we had to admit soy sauce to jazz it. salt and pfeffer would have been very helpful. yum yum soße is not her traditional. her sauce must be a senf base. was not terrible, but definitiv not what people expect and was disappointing. the waitress made small side comments that they feel hastened. we had perhaps sat for 1 minute and she comes over and says: “We are already behind the naval plan” and asked for our order. we had not even seen the menu. as I said, it was just a minute. there is an automatic 18% congratulate added to the bill, but the waitress made a clear that they share the pointed 5 away. I've never been to an overpriced restaurant or restaurant where the server suggests that I have to add more to the congratulate. if they have never been in a Japanese steak house, this would happen, but if they have gone several times, they will most likely be disappointed.

Restaurant hard to find inside resort. No sushi or sashimi available only tableside grilling. Food over salted. Chef was charming and talented but the entire experience was extremely disappointing.
Always a show and always top quality food cooked to your specifications right in front of you. Especially entertaining for families with children as the chef engages them in a delightful fashion. A bit pricey but worth every penny.
The only negative was how FREEZING cold it is in the dining room, even when the hibachi grill is blazing. They should provide blankets and jackets for their guests if they are going to keep it that cold. (Requests to have the AC adjusted were met with “So sorry; we don’t have any control over the temp. Otherwise one of the best hibachi experiences we’ve ever had—the food was outstanding, as was the chef’s engagement with us at the table.
