Island Bistro Heidi's

This was our fourth visit to Heidi's, and it was fantastic. Heidi, Axel, and the entire staff are amazing, and the food is even better. This is a must-visit when you're in Fort Myers Beach.

The most delicious homemade German cuisine! You should definitely give it a try; you won’t regret it! Don’t miss out on their giant hot pretzel—everything here is fantastic! They also offer great beers, scrumptious food, and delightful homemade desserts.

I absolutely love this place! My family visited twice during our week in Fort Myers, and it definitely passed my German mother's approval. The selection of beers is excellent, and the desserts are fantastic! The lobster bisque is a must-try! My dad really enjoyed the schnitzel and the German platter featuring three different types of meat (I didn't try them since I'm pescatarian, but my parents were thrilled with their choices!). The restaurant has a warm, family-friendly atmosphere and an interesting menu with plenty of unique dishes to explore.

Nice authentic German restaurant with nice portions and great tap beers. The potato pancakes were very nice.

Don't blink, you might miss it. Look for the red canopy on this quaint family-run restaurant. Our server was Heidi and her husband, the chef. We ordered the large pretzel with sweet mustard. It had a nice skin/crust on the outside and super soft on the inside. The special with beef stroganoff, spaetzel and red cabbage; authentic taste, delicious. If you choose the schnitzel, chicken is also an option, very tasty, pounded thin with a nice crust, topped with mushroom gravy. Accompanied by the spaetzel and red cabbage. You can choose your own two sides. Please be patient as Heidi was the only server and she does her best to get around to all of the tables. She made you feel at home. My only reason for the 4 stars would be the speed of service. The food is worth the wait.
