eating was very good. we had the clam chowder, who was very tasty, but a little too thick. pasta was delicious. I had the grouper francaise over garlic pasta and it was cooked exactly right. service was efficient and very friendly. the only complaint is the acoustic. it was very loud, so hard to make a talk at our table. What User doesn't like about George Wendy's Seafood Grille:
steak was tasteless, had better sides in an almost food restaurant. that is nothing but almost all restaurants in this stupid sanibel, a tourist trap. the friend said the pasta was good, or I had just marked this one star. View all feedback.
SENSATIONAL WAREN! 100% perfect. We had a party of seven and called for reservations. They had it ready when we arrived. The food was at the level of a fine restaurant, but the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming! Our waitress was an absolutely charming Michigander. We ordered the roasted garlic and brie, and the Kalamari for the appetizers and they were ON POINT! And the bread with Pesto Dip... lonely stellar. The salads were incredibly fresh, cold and perfect. The drunken grouper was a hit with my husband and son. I had the Grouper Francaise. Usually I get photos of all food... but I have legally forgotten and decided the best review would be the EMPTY PLATES!! I wish I could steal the chefs. If you're somewhere near Sanibel... time for this facility.
The food is absolutely delicious! Great service as well! Their signature fresh baked bread with pesto is just amazing! For the ladies highly recommend The “flamingo something (don’t remember)” cocktail Loved this place!!!
I had a fantastic time at George and Wendy's with my mother tonight! The general manager Dawn was so welcoming and friendly. She even remembered us both from our first visit which was really appreciated and made us feel at home. Our sever Marcus and his manager were also very attentive and hospitable. Marcus never dropped the ball and always made an effort to check back and made sure everything was just perfect! Thank you so much. The food was tastey too, I had the baby back ribs, which as promised by the extensive menu fell off the bone! Topping off the night was my frozen Pina colada which was so daymn yummy and was my desert and night cap in one! Being made extra boozie with a goslings black seal float. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. The live music wasn't half bad either. Thank you again George and Wendy's for a lovely evening .
Wow what a gem in Sanibel, originally we picked a different restaurant but now we will stop by every chance we get. Here’s what I would get again, the bread with oil and shredded parm. It is a great starter, coming hot and fresh out of the oven. To this day I’m still searching for an olive oil as decadent as we had that night… (Let it be known is a dinner only option, don’t make out mistake of trying to get some at lunch hour, it is not baked then. The Shrimp and Scallop Scampi, this knocked my socks off, everyone was fighting for the last bite and sopping up each little morsel left on their plates. The white wine sauce is just perfect with the sun dried tomatoes. I’m telling you do not pass this one up. The best crème brûlée is simple, and they did not mess this one up, fresh fruit, whipped cream, vanilla custard, and caramelized sugar. It was a exactly what we needed to end our meal. Now what I would pass on was our Dinner Entrées, they were not bad but not as amazing as our appetizers and dessert, we would probably try other choices next time. Overall we can’t wait to come back and indulge, and if you want a quiet dining experience sit outside in their lovely outdoor patio area. Or enjoy a bustling setting with live music by the bar. Thanks George Wendy!
I hardly write reviews, but these wings deserve it. Ordered the Old Bay wings with bleu cheese and ranch. Probably the best wings I can recall I've had. I'm not a bleu cheese fan, but theirs is on point! I'm guessing they add garlic salt to their old bay when they season them right out of the fryer. If you stop by, definitely get them with a beer. My review is based solely on the wings I had, I haven't had anything else off their menu.
