What marc amedeo doesn't like about Sake:
Sushi rolls are mediocre at best. The menu will tell you all you need to know. Very few rolls have sliced tuna or salmon on top. Most are ground up spicy tuna, crab meat (is it really crab?? etc. Basically they are cheaply made rolls sold at almost same price as as high end rolls but most people don’t understand this. Coming from Cali, we were hoping we could find good sushi during our trip. This place was amazingly good. I got the Sake Special (pictured) and my family had the dragon roll and the fire dragon roll. My daughter doesn?t do sushi, but she does Ramen and she loved her Ramen. She got the tonkotsu, was very happy. Mochi was also a great wrap to the meal. We have this place saved for next time.
For an off-the-beaten path, middle of suburban Sandy, this place has a menu that rivals any authentic restaurant you can find. It?s got a chic decor and nice vibe. There were only two of us so we could only try out so many thing but lots of things looked so good. We didn?t get to try the ramen or any of the rice dishes. We?ll come back some day to try those. We did get a roll, some yakitori, ikayaki, and nabeyaki udon. Everything was perfect. Just the udon was a lighter in flavor than we?re used to. We should have asked for some shichimi powder but we didn?t. We didn?t find anyone that spoke Japanese but clearly the menu is put together by someone who knows what they?re doing. Oh prices are very reasonable too. On the low side for the quality. Definitely worth trying again. Ps. One other minor thing not great. Tempura should be flash fried with delicate and light batter but the tempura shrimp in our udon was a little on the heavy and greasy side. Maybe temp of the oil or the quality of the batter?
Recommend getting the fire dragon. Have been here 2 times and it?s still my favorite. I?ve probably tried 6 different kinds of sushi?s here and they?re all great. The cheesecake was fire too. Friendly staff and quick to get our orders out!
We are so happy to have this amazing sushi/ramen restaurant in our neighborhood! The restaurant is always clean, everyone is extremely friendly and the food is delicious! Our kids love the chicken teriyaki with tempura veggies. Thanks Sake! We?re lucky to have you!
We enjoyed a feast SAKE Ramen Sushi Bar with a few members of the Utah Foodie Fam. To start the sushi was all really fresh and tasted awesome! The Ramen and all of the other non sushi dishes that we tried were stellar! Go check this place out! Thank you Jade Gip for having us! Such an amazing evening!
