What Renee Ashby dislikes about Hot Pot 757:
The food was decent, the service was acceptable, and the atmosphere was fine. However, the temperature inside the restaurant was unacceptable—it felt just as cold indoors as it did outside. View all feedback.
First of all, Kpot charged us an extra $5 per person for the combination of BBQ and hotpot, totaling an additional $15 for three of us! On the other hand, Hot Pot 757 lets you enjoy both BBQ and hotpot for just $21.99 per person, with no extra fees! Secondly, when it comes to hotpot, sesame sauce is essential for enhancing the flavor, and Hot Pot 757 offers authentic sesame paste, while Kpot serves a cheap sesame oil. Now, let’s talk about the service. I didn’t catch the waiter’s name, but he was incredibly accommodating and even allowed me to take a photo with him. He provided outstanding service, adding broth to my pot before I even had to ask for a refill. He also checked in with us to see if we wanted to order more food before we were finished. The restaurant’s environment is clean, and the floor was not greasy at all—unlike my experience at Kpot, where I almost slipped! However, I do have a couple of points to mention: 1. The prices listed on the menu at the restaurant differ from those online; they are actually lower. 2. I just called to confirm dinner prices for tonight. The manager informed me that there is no lunch pricing on weekends, and they do charge $5 extra for the hotpot and BBQ combo. I highly recommend enjoying your hotpot and BBQ during lunch time for the best deal, especially considering today’s inflation!

I understand that $1 isn't a huge amount, but the problem lies in the discrepancy itself. Prices have been rising everywhere, and I feel that the person responsible for ensuring consistency between online and in-store prices has not done their job. This particular price difference has persisted for several months, indicating that it's not just a simple oversight. They likely realize that once customers are seated, most won’t leave over a dollar. Generally, this is a clean and well-managed restaurant, so I can’t attribute this pricing issue to negligence; instead, it seems to reflect a degree of complacency, which bothers me. However, it's entirely possible this is a franchise. If the franchisee is allowed to adjust their in-store pricing but lacks the ability to update the online information, then they might not be at fault, and if that's the case, I apologize to the Chimney Hill location. But since I don't have that information at the moment, I'm giving them a rating of 3 out of 5 stars instead of 5.
