My wife and I stopped here around 6:00 on a Thursday. There were a few people here but it wasn’t difficult to get a seat. We each had a large slice of pizza and a salad. Their slices are unusual as they’re the size of a small pizza. We also had a few beers including a flight. They have a good variety of beer, including a decent assortment of local craft beers. The food, beer and service were all very good. Highly rec... View all feedback.
What Irish4life doesn't like about 1702 Craft Beer And Pizza:
Read about this place on-line so I wandered over there for lunch. The are friendly enough and place has a cool vibe. The pizza was pretty bland at best. Good portion size and needed some garlic salt to get some taste. Met the owner, super cool guy, would probably go there to get a beer ? at some point View all feedback.
Fantastic pizza and incredibly unique, tasty beers!Mesquite Smoked Porter is over the top flavorful and one-of-a-kind beer. They have sours on tap and some great craft beers to satisfy your cravings. Highly recommend any beers they offer.Pizza is fresh as are the ingredients. Always get the ROMAN pizza. 1,000% better than other places. Great value, locally owned and operated. Never had a poor experience. Highly recommend.

Our go to before UofA games. Huge slices and fresh salads along with an excellent selection of brews.
Okay, let me start with why this was only 4-stars because this is not a reflection on the food or the beer because they were great! The reason I only did 4-stars was because my friend and I are here for a military school and forgot our masks back in our rooms (like 30 minutes away). We saw that masks were required so we stood at the entrance, away from other people and asked politely if they had paper masks. No problem! They gave us paper masks and we were seated. However, from that point onward the atmosphere and the body language of the staff was just not very inviting. Now, this could have been due to the fact that there were 3 to 4 people at the front of the restaurant at any given moment that just weren't really doing much of anything, which I totally understand. But the vibes they were putting off were just not great.Anyway, something like that is completely subjective, but for me it did affect my experience overall. Now, the food! I got the special for the month as a calzone, the Genoa: so so good!Very generous with toppings/fillings, the sauce was really robust and flavorful, and the crust was baked oh so perfectly!I ordered one of the in-house beers as well and that did not disappoint either! It was a mesquite porter, bourbon barrel aged: so delicious and very easy drinking with a little bit of that nice bourbon boozy flavor on the finish! So, overall, great place. All of our direct interactions with staff were great too so once again, don't let my subjective view put you off from eating here at all! At the very least, order something to go and have a beer while you wait!
