I stopped here for a ‘quick’ sit down lunch. Very popular place with local Italians, a mix of single people, couples/colleagues and larger tables. My Italian is not great, but I figured it was a fixed menu. And I assume changed daily depending on ingredients available. Bread was brought, it was already sliced and mostly stale. To start, I was offered different types of pasta and so I chose a pasta ragu. Next I was offered either melon and ham (parma style , or caprese salad (tomato and mozzarella or tonnato (I think it was veal tonnato? . Having chosen the melon and ham, they offered either mixed salad or ‘potatos from the oven’ if I heard correctly. To my surprise, the pasta came first. It was very simple, al dente and the sauce was tasty (although I could have done with a little bit more . Next the melon and ham... a huge portion, with mixed salad (lettuce and grated carrot, not mixed . The ham and melon was very tasty, but didn’t go with the salad served, nor would the oven potatoes (which looked like chips either! I was surprised that the pasta was served first, I would’ve expected it to be the other way round.. All this was washed down with a large bottle of still water. So this was all for 11 Euros, good value!. Would I come back? Yes probably, to try some more home cooked food, in a local trattoria and experience the really Italy!
