The pace of the restaurant was good and the atmosphere was unpredictable. There were green decorations around midday which added a nice touch. The only drawback was the music, which was a bit too loud and disruptive. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Marugame Udon:
Marugame Udon was recommended to us by a friend, so we decided to have lunch there. The restaurant is usually busy and there can be a long wait, but the service is quite fast once you are seated. The decor is beautiful, with Japanese style elements, large windows, and lots of natural light. You can even watch the udon being prepared in the open kitchen. However, I found the udon to be just okay. The toncotsu broth wa... View all feedback.
This restaurant serves delicious food with generous portions. The packaging was excellent as everything arrived hot, including the broth for our tonkotsu. The potato croquette had a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior, making it super tasty. The large chicken katsu was also crispy and tender. I highly recommend this place!
The food was delicious, but unfortunately on both occasions that I ordered from them, they forgot to include the broth. The portions are also smaller compared to other restaurants.
Too much udon noodles and not enough broth. Broth came in a small container that tempura sauces typically come in. Not even a full cup (i measured). It was a little over half a cup. Unacceptable.
The udon at Marugame Udon is fairly standard, with good portions and quality. The food smells great, the croquettes and shrimp tempura taste delicious, and the udon itself is satisfying. However, there is nothing particularly unique or exceptional about this restaurant compared to others serving similar dishes. I would rate it as good, but not exceptional enough to merit a 5-star rating.
I used to really like this place. I loved getting the chicken teriyaki bowl with rice but they took it off the menu for a while. I ordered it for the first time in forever yesterday and got some shrimp teriyaki and it tasted greasy, like the oil wasn't hot enough. Well, maybe that's on me I did order it around 11:30 am. Today I ordered ramen, figured they can't mess that up and I was really in the mood. The broth tastes rancid. Like it went bad from them leaving it out for a week. It was inedible. I can't even eat it and I wouldn't even feed it to a dog. Waste of money. I won't be ordering from here anymore.
