City Bakery - San Marcos

This bakery is fantastic, featuring the most delightful staff. The customer service is outstanding, and the food is wonderful!

I chose a scone, strawberry empanada, churro, and several different muffins. Everything was excellent and very fairly priced. Customer service was excellent. Please support this most excellent, delicious small business!

I was really excited for this visit, as I usually avoid chain bakeries. Unfortunately, City Bakery didn't quite meet my expectations. The buñuelos were stale, or at the very least, the oil they were fried in could have been fresher. On the bright side, the strawberry cream pastry was excellent!

This was my first time visiting, and we'll definitely return. The conchas were very soft and delicious, and the empanadas were delightful as well. I gave a rating of 4 because, despite the wide variety of breads available, they didn't have the specific sweet bread I was hoping for, which is quite common. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have it. However, the two ladies working there were friendly and welcoming.

Very friendly service and great brownies. They allowed me to sit in the bakery while I waited over an hour for the game shop next door to open. Also offer tamales on weekends so you BET I'll be back on Saturdays.
