The food is amazing! Four of us had dinner together, and each person ordered a different dish. We all loved everything! The waitress, Perry, was so attentive and helpful, and all of the staff were very friendly. View all feedback.
What Leopoldo D'Amore doesn't like about Cafe Roma:
We ate here to celebrate my son's graduation. There were 5 of us. 2 dishes were tasteless and inedible. Server seemed put-out by our complaint when we asked for a new dish for one so we didn't bother asking to replace the other. Emailed the restaurant but was given a very terse and defensive email back and zero compensation. Would not recommend or return. View all feedback.

This classic Italian restaurant is one we return to whenever we are in SLO, the food is authentic, delicious and perfectly presented. The service is friendly and efficient. The ambiance is more old world. And something we especially appreciate is that the acoustics allow for actual conversation, something so rare in modern restaurants with all the hard surfaces, open kitchens, and loud music. This makes it particularly pleasant for date nights, larger multigenerational family gatherings, or any dinner out where members of the party actually want to share a conversation over their fine meal.
Great dinner with friends. Caesar salad, beet salad, lasagna, mushroom ravioli, Salmon and shrimp piccata. The only downside were the slow drink delivery. (Not our server's problem, but a slow bartender.
Everything was very good, especially the service. Crystal is wonderful. The sand dabs we had were perfectly prepared–lightly sautéed and delicate. My only complaint, and it is a mild one, was the piccata sauce on the sand dabs. It may just be a personal preference, but I thought the sauce needed a touch more lemon for balance. I've had their Scampi Piccata and I thought the sauce was much better on that dish. We will be back.
We've been to Cafe Roma a number of times over the last decade. The food is consistently great. We're also impressed with the attentive service provided by all of their wait staff. A solid 10 out of 10!
