What Pietro Grossi doesn't like about Big Sky Cafe:
Big Sky is a well-established semi-upscale eatery. Their menu is marked with about ten V symbols, which the menu explains are items that can be made vegan . As it turns out, making something vegan means taking away essential parts of the dish and either having no replacement or having an unsuitable replacement. For example, the flatbread with hummus and baba ganouj is made with butter, and the server offered no other... View all feedback.
Very friendly service and love eating. we always get the big sky bowl with tofu, Polnta-Fries and sweet kartoffelfries.
This was not our first choice to dinner, but we are glad we tried. vegan paella was delicious, fruit herbs was very delicious.
I really enjoyed the vegan chopped salate and asparagus with balsamika reduction. my man liked the noodle bowl. drinks were cheap in comparison to what we have in la. the free rolls are vegan. the service was a little slow. I thought the atmosphere would be nice and think that would be a great place to dinate in mixed (dietary preferences) business.
The atmosphere is very casual and on a hot day, it is hot inside because there is no air conditioning, it is only open to the outside. we ordered the spring rolls that were really delicious and came with two different sauces, both good. the black bohnenburger was less than impressive. it was very dry. the brot and the patty were both dry. charged $2 for a few slices of avocado are added. the chili was very delicious. be careful if they serve the suppening with cheese, unless otherwise specified. I really liked the Veggie podium, but it had a little bite in what was not my favorite, so I brought it out. the regular and sweet potato fryers were delicious. hibiscus tee was also good. we got the fertilizer without whip for the desert, but that was really disappointing. it was super watery and not crispy at all. it tasted like a water-sweet.
Before switching to a plant based diet Big Sky Cafe was our favorite vacation spot on the central coast. We enjoyed the menu so much we would often times eat breakfast and dinner there all in one day. We still enjoy frequenting the restaurant as they do offer vegan options and the staff is very accommodating to substitute items expanding their vegan options.
