Update: I went for the Haxen. I love Haxen! I recommend staying away from it. It's expensive and the skin is supposed to be crispy, it was like chewing shoe leather. The sides were great though. The person I went with, native German, didn't like the Currywurst. She said it was plated weirdly, but looked good. She said the curry ketchup was super weird and very very sweet. She didn't like it and didn't finish it. She... View all feedback.
What Maurice Graham doesn't like about Beda's Biergarten:
Food was meh. Spatzel was bland and not like I've ever had. Sauerkraut tasted like it was made yesterday. Guess I was expecting my German great grandma to be in the kitchen. On a positive note, the rest of party loved the beers. (I don't drink beer so I'll take their word). Staff did okay, down a few people. We sat outside and it was plenty warm. Might try it again to see if they just had an off night. View all feedback.
Friendly service, the food came quite fast and was very good. The sprocket was made very good, but needed a little more salt / spices (I took the one without engraving tho). The place itself was beautiful and the beers were great. We had a nice time.
This is my favorite place to get beer in SLO. You have a large selection and everything is excellent. The food is also good. Definitely a fun atmosphere.
We are long-standing lovers of Bedas Biergarten. It is one of our favorite restaurants in San Luis Obispo. We spent date nights, graduation parties and early morning World Cup watchdog parties in this restaurant and every time it is really a wonderful experience. I'm writing my review here today because we have just organized our rehearsal dinner at Beda's for our wedding and it was fantastic! The food is exceptional as always, but what really distinguishes Beda is the hospitality of Beda itself, which is often on site to welcome guests with its brand jovial attitude. His daughter can also often be found waiting tables and guest guests and is just as much joy. We love Beda's and will definitely eat here many times in the future, this time as a man and woman!
One of my favorite spots on the California Central Coast. Beda is such a fantastic person and it's always a pleasure to chat with him when I stop by for a beer and roast. Everything is unique and delicious. Pretzel rolls? Yes, please! Where else you will find several of the best German beers on tap... few and far in between.
Love the Jaeger Schnitzel and the Beda Burger is fantastic also! Their fries are the best, especially with the curry ketchup! Always fantastic, love this place!!!!
