Grilled Hamachi collar is a bit too small. Otherwise, everything is tasty and fresh. I like the sake flight very much. As you can guess, the most expensive one out of three is the one we like the most. Waitress is very patient answering all our questions.Parking: Mall parking View all feedback.
What Laura Quesada doesn't like about Sanraku:
Worst sushi ever! Super expensive, no fresh fish, full of cucumber, super salty! ? rolls were tiny and way overpriced. We couldn't finish them because they were awful ?Food: 1/5 View all feedback.
Sanraku is a quite decent restaurant. While it may not be outstanding, it shows promise. The tempura appetizer was satisfactory—definitely not bad, especially considering how much poor tempura exists in the area. The spicy beef donburi was average in both flavor and presentation. However, the nigiri sushi was exceptional, and the bento box option that allows for mixing and matching is both clever and enjoyable. On the downside, the prices are a bit high for what you get. Overall, we had a good experience and would be interested in returning to try other dishes. One odd aspect is the entrance that leads past the bathroom, utility closet, and the back of the kitchen; it feels a bit strange for a restaurant in a mall.
The grilled hamachi collar is a little smaller than expected. However, everything else is delicious and fresh. I especially enjoyed the sake flight; as you might expect, the most expensive option of the three was our favorite. The waitress was very patient in answering all our questions. Parking is available at the mall.
The location and ambiance are pleasant, and the service is excellent! The food is neither surprising nor disappointing. Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 5.
Without a doubt, Sanraku stands as my absolute go-to local sushi spot. The authenticity and freshness of their offerings are remarkable. Although I've been a loyal patron for years, I've hesitated to leave a review out of fear that it might lead to a surge in their waitlist – the irony is not lost on me!My introduction to this gem was during my time in San Francisco, visiting one of their first locations, and I was delighted when they established a presence here years before the pandemic hit. While the idea of sushi within a shopping mall might raise eyebrows, my friends have all become converts, now bringing along their families and companions.Consistency is key, and Sanraku never disappoints in this aspect. The vibe is low-key and casual. The service is consistently good, and the food is always of the highest quality. The staff's warmth is matched only by the excellence of the cuisine they serve. Thank you!
Something has changed since the pandemic. The sushi bar has closed and the previous chefs are gone. Some manu items have also been changed now. A few of our favorite appetizers that remains are not as good anymore. Overall still a good Japanese restaurant. We just missed the old time quality.Food: 4/5
