Gong Cha Gòng Chá - San Jose

Not only is the tea amazing but the staff are actually the nicest people i’ve met!!

This restaurant is bright and clean, and the staff is skilled at making excellent boba drinks.

I decided to visit Gong Cha out of nostalgia, as it used to be one of my favorite boba spots. I have fond memories of their delicious and creamy Pearl milk tea at the Palo Alto location. However, when I recently ordered the Pearl milk tea at this location with 70% sweetness and 50% ice, it was overly sweet, almost like drinking sugar water. I can't imagine how sweet it would be at 100%. It also lacked the creaminess I remembered. I'm not sure if this is specific to this location or if they have changed the recipe. Additionally, the staff forgot to give me a straw, even though they had given one to the patrons before me.

The service was excellent and the boba drinks were delicious. I highly recommend this place!

The workers here are very rude. The girl at the register threw her hands up and was obviously annoyed because I was asking questions about the menu. It made me so uncomfortable for someone to be that disrespectful so I am no longer a customer. Instead I suggest people visit teaspoon, pekoe, sunright, or even tastea because the employees will not give you attitude or throw their hands up when their answers do not make sense.
