El Buen Gusto Taqueria - San Jose

I recently returned to the area and was thrilled to see that my favorite restaurant is still here and hasn't changed much. The staff is still friendly, the food is still amazing, and the salsa is even better. I'm grateful that they have been able to weather these uncertain times.

This is one of the best Hawaiian tortas I've ever had. 10/10

The highlight of this restaurant is its Tortas ahogadas, which are the best in town. However, I was disappointed when I ordered for takeout and they did not provide enough tomato sauce. They wanted to charge extra for more sauce, which seemed overpriced. I ordered four tortas and a side of crispy tacos, but they only gave us one 16 oz container of sauce, which was enough for topping the tortas but not for drowning them. The staff is usually very friendly, but on this occasion, an older lady with a bad attitude and rudeness got upset when I requested more salsa.

The best thing they have is her Tortas ahogadas, they are the best in town I 'll say, but sadly when you order to go they won 't give you enough tomato sauce, if you want an extra one they 'll charge you over priced for extra. I ordered 4 and 1 order of crispy tacos, they just gave us like one 16 oz container which is good enough if you only top the tortas with it but if you want to do it ahogada you need a good amount and for 4 isn 't enough, usually people there is super nice but this time was an older lady with very bad attitude, rude and she got upset because I asked for more salsa.

Came here on a Wednesday morning around 9:20 am and there were no other customers there.There were two people working in the kitchen. One of the two employees took our order which was the breakfast burrito. That was enough for two people would love to come again. maybe when there is more people
