Great food and friendly service, and she doesn't care about the meat. Delicious salsa too! Very recommended, especially if you can find a time when they are not overcrowded. View all feedback.
What K M S doesn't like about Doña María:
This restaurant offers a fantastic variety of fresh dishes, including Menudo available every day. It's family-owned, with a casual vibe and generous portion sizes. Enjoy a selection of beer, sangria, and Chavalas drinks. You can either seat yourself for table service or place an order to go. View all feedback.
Carne asada nachos: The portion size is quite generous, and you get complimentary guacamole, which is a nice touch. However, that’s about where the highlights end. The carne asada was somewhat tough, and I would have preferred a bit more char and seasoning for better flavor.
Oh my goodness, if the menu says spicy, you should definitely believe it! I ordered the Steak Ranchero, and wow, it had me sweating like crazy!
I had an excellent meal at an amazing strip of small shops. I ordered the breakfast chilaquiles with eggs and beans, and the chips were fantastic with the salsa. The portion was quite large, enough to serve two people. My husband had enchiladas and a chicken taco, and before I knew it, they were all gone! He really enjoyed his meal. It's popular, with many people calling in for takeout. I definitely plan to return!
The food is excellent and the service is very friendly; they don't skimp on the portions either. The salsa is incredibly tasty! I highly recommend this place, especially if you can visit when it's not too crowded.
The service, however, can be inconsistent—sometimes it's excellent, while other times it's quite disappointing. I suppose this inconsistency is why I wouldn't rate it a full five stars. I visited again on May 7, 2022, and I was pleased to see that they've remodeled the interior, making it bright and inviting. The food remains excellent, and prices have adjusted to the new normal for the South Bay Area.
