Contribute FeedbackAmber India Restaurant used to be a great spot for traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine, but recent reviews suggest a decline in quality, service, and cleanliness. Some diners found the food unnecessarily spicy and the staff unaccommodating. However, others still praise the unique menu offerings, flavorful dishes, and stylish ambiance. The restaurant stands out for its creative cocktails, innovative creations, and impressive buffet selection. While some find it pricy, others believe it offers good value for the quality. Overall, Amber India Restaurant remains a standout choice for Indian cuisine in the Bay Area, despite some mixed reviews.
Wonderful food and service. We chose an outdoor table and it was very busy on the sidewalk on Friday night. We thoroughly enjoyed
The best good quality of any Indian buffet in the Bay Area. Fish is crispy with a very thin layer of coating that make sure you are eating fish rather than a crispy fatty coating . So many dishes that are not on ala-carte menu but taste great! Chaat is very authentic and fresh. Best at all price tag comes so reasonable that is half of their spa-carte price per person . Got to be back soon
Chef is from Kolkata of India. He is young and talented . Cooked a Bengali fish curry not on the menu. Brilliant ! He chatted with us a few times, very observant and gifted us extra nasals tea and rice and desert. The General Manager has an amazing attitude to life. They make me enjoyed the meal thoroughly
I haven’t been to Ambar Santana Row for a few years (I used to live on the Row so ate there regularly) and was severely disappointed. Something was off the whole evening. Service was strange, distant, and not that helpful (they tried to take plates away while we were still eating it and it was left in the basket), and most importantly, the food was bad (lamb chops way over done, parantha raw/under cooked, etc). I spoke to the manager who said I should have told them I didn’t want the lamb overdone ?!? I was not asked when I ordered nor have I ever been to a restaurant where the norm is over cooking meat. The manager gave us a small discount (not as much as even one of the dishes we ordered but I think he thought that was the way to handle the situation). I dine out a fair amount and was pretty disappointed. Will not be back
The food is outstanding. The best Indian food for me in the Bay Area. Service is fast too
