Super authentic and cozy spot, for an unbeatable SF price too! My Thai friend brought me here and was my time having boat noodles! Went for the yon fo tai which had a sweet and sour broth, shared a papaya salad with fermented crab (so good and sticky rice (dip in the sauce! . The catfish was surprisingly good too! Would def be back despite the location The service is super friendly as well! View all feedback.
What Amitha Pious doesn't like about Zen Yai Thai:
The fresh rolls were too thick with a heavy rice dough wrapping. The same filling in a thinner rice paper roll would have been more enjoyable. The chicken satay was decent. Overall, it was an okay dining experience. View all feedback.
The food at this restaurant is excellent for the price. As other reviewers have noted, the combination boat noodles with beef and egg noodles are particularly tasty.

This is the best Thai boat noodle soup I've ever had in the state. It's even better than most Thai boat noodle soup I've tried in Thailand. I always make sure to stop at this place whenever I visit San Francisco. Their other dishes are good too, but the Thai boat noodle soup is my favorite. They also sell Thai desserts at the counter, which I love.

Authentic Thai option frequented by local Thais. Zen Yai Tom Yum noodle encompasses the sweet, sour and fragrant mix quintessential of the Bangkok street food palette. Yen Ta Fo, a playful mix of textures and flavors: seafood cake, shellfish, fungus, and pork blood. Beef noodle soup with beef balls, fragrantly spiced and deeply beefy. Ask for the spice tray for some heat.
