I absolutely love the pho at Yummy Yummy. The broth is delicious, and the beef is incredibly tender. A few years ago, my parents came to visit me from Hong Kong, and I... View all feedback.
What Christine Chao doesn't like about Yummy Yummy:
Not sure why we went there again, i remember we weren’t impressed with the food the first time and the second time the food was the same but also got super pricey! The pho broth was bland and watered down and the one I got was supposed to have beef tendons but didn’t have any. Green beans was oily and soggy, worse than what I make at home. The only saving grace was that the owner is super friendly and very attentive... View all feedback.
We don't get out to the avenues much but popped in for a quick bite. I wish I'd had more of an appetite because the few items we did order were all excellent and the menu is long. Super friendly, mostly local place. The staff seemed to know all the regulars and their kids. The storefront might look forgettable but you'll remember the experience.
I had mixed seafood soup with rice noodles... I assume it was a chicken broth.... and MY GOD IT WAS SO DAMN GOOD!!! Best pho broth I 've ever had. I love that the owners take pride in service and cleanliness. I can 't wait to go back and try more.
I ordered takeout: bun bo hue, spring rolls (goi cuon), and che 3 mau. Their spring rolls were tasty, although on the lean side in terms of size. They're 2 rolls cut into 3 so 6 pieces for $10. I appreciated that they included herbs in addition to lettuce for more fresh flavor. The bun bo hue is pretty good; the flavor is nice and all the meat is there but it's served with the same garnishes as pho instead of cabbage etc as is traditional for bun bo hue. My overall rating is sub par because they forgot my che dessert but still charged me. I'm very disappointed since it's too late to drive back before I noticed.
Excellent Dungeness crab! The house special is a little spicy, and served with onions and scallions. The Bò Lúc Lắc (shaking beef) is great, very tender and heavy on the fresh crushed black pepper, but I wish a spicy version was available. Fast and friendly service. Always very welcoming.
I love this place! Really kind, patient staff, super clean place, great menu variety.
