The restaurant offers a striking atmosphere and commendable food, with highlights such as braised rabbit and fried chicken praised by patrons. However, service inconsistencies and noise levels can detract from the dining experience, especially during busy times or large gatherings. Despite some reservations not being honored and lengthy wait times for food, the overall excitement and warm service create a lively environment, making it a noteworthy spot for celebrations. For those seeking an enjoyable meal in a dynamic setting, Toy Soldier is worth considering.
We had a great time enjoying dinner at Toy Soldier before heading to Davies Symphony Hall for a show. This was our first time dining in this alley full of restaurants, and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious cocktails, steaks, gnocchi, and crab cakes. The entire group enjoyed the food, and the service was excellent.
The staff was very accommodating to our group, which continued to grow as more people dropped in.
While the menu is a little limited the food is amazing! I've sent several teams there for dinner after an onsite and everyone always compliments the restaurant choice.
Nice people and nice atmosphere- caprese was really good
