Oakside Cafe - San Francisco

Love this place!. not as expensive as loading opposite, and a great and friendly place. you thunfischsalat sandwich is the bomb:!

The prices are great and the food is delicious with fast service. The breakfast bagels and plain bagels with cream cheese are particularly tasty. If you prefer simple drip coffee over fancy options, this is the place for you.

Lox bagel was packed with sprouts, onions, capers... the works! It was so delicious. I loved sitting outside in the sun while enjoying this piece. I can't wait to go back!

I want to love this place, I really do. I've been here multiple times, so this isn't just a one-time visit. However, I have only tried the baked goods, which are pretty average compared to other coffee shops that sell similar items. The coffee drinks are just okay, nothing special. The exterior of the restaurant is cool, located in a nicely painted Victorian building. It's conveniently situated near the DMV and Golden Gate Park Panhandle. It's far enough from the main part of Haight Street to avoid some of the issues with homelessness and unpredictable individuals. Sadly, the staff are unwelcoming and unpleasant. It seems like they wouldn't even be nice to their own dogs. The atmosphere is so unfriendly that you might as well be hanging out on an iceberg. If you're in a rush and need a quick coffee or snack, this place might do. Otherwise, it's not worth the visit.

A lot of the reviews of this place are pre-pandemic. While I'm sure the ambiance was great, I've gotten their breakfast sandwich and mocha to go a couple of times and I'm always a little disappointed.
