Had a very enjoyable meal here and will definitely go back. The food was good and the host provided amazing service and made us feel like royalty. We shared several delicious rolls and the chef's special roll with truffle oil was unique and very memorable. An instant favorite. What User doesn't like about Nakama Sushi:
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The sushi was delicious and affordable. I usually don't drink much, but I decided to try the Peach Jelly Sake drink and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. I highly recommend it and can't wait to have it again. I also enjoyed the nigiri, especially the butterfish. I will definitely be back for more. View all feedback.
The service was friendly, the sushi was excellent, and the prices were affordable.
I will say that the menu looked amazing. Unfortunately we will never know. After going over the menu for close to 30 min, we were never checked on, when we went to order we were informed that there was no more rice. Yes, no more rice at a sushi establishment. It would have been nice if he had informed us when we first sat down that they were running low on rice, but no such communication was to be had. By they time we were informed that they couldn’t provide the most basic ingredient of their establishment, every other sushi restaurant in the neighborhood was closed. Bad service and bad communication made for a wasted evening, thanks Nakama.

It deserves to be busier than it was the night we went, but that may change when more people discover this little gem.
This hidden gem has the freshest, highest quality sushi in Hayes Valley. Service is excellent as well. Get the nigiri tasting menu!
Wanted to try sushi while visiting the bay and this place did not disappoint. Every aspect of this place is great. From the food, atmosphere, and drinks we enjoyed everything. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here. If you’re local or just visiting like us this place is a must. Can’t wait to visit again.
