This vibrant ramen restaurant shines with its rich, flavorful broths, particularly the modern miso ramen praised for its depth. Diners appreciate the vegan options, though some wish for more variety. While the restaurant's atmosphere is lively and service attentive, visitors should be prepared for a wait on weekends and a steep price point of around $16 per bowl. Portions can be modest, prompting mixed feelings about value. Despite some critiques on vegetarian variety and gratuity policies, the overall dining experience is delightful, recommended for those seeking delicious, authentic ramen in San Francisco.
We had a great experience trying the vegan ramen and vegan cucumber appetizer at Ippudo. The waitress was knowledgeable about the vegan options on the menu, which I appreciated. While I wished there were more vegan choices, the meal was still enjoyable for everyone in our group.
The broth at this restaurant is incredibly flavorful and delicious! The tofu is also very tasty. The waitress suggested trying the original broth before mixing everything together, so be sure to follow her advice!
I am accustomed to having ramen with a disappointing vegetable broth, so it was a pleasant surprise to try something different at this restaurant! I have been craving good ramen ever since I stopped eating meat. Who needs pork when you can enjoy the delicious akamaru veggie ramen?
This Ramen left me disappointed. Very little toppings and the tofu was such a small amount. They clearly do not prioritize the vegetarian Ramen at all here.
My family and I visited this restaurant on a Monday night and the wait time was reasonable, about 20-25 minutes. The staff was friendly and attentive, despite some negative reviews. I tried the Miso Tonkotsu and found it to be delicious. The soup had a creamy base that didn't overpower the broth, which was exactly what I wanted. The spoons were unusually large, as if they were made for giants. My only complaints were that the portion size was small, even for someone with a small appetite like myself, and the 25% mandatory gratuity felt excessive. I believe tipping should be at my discretion. Despite these issues, we were overall pleased with our experience and would recommend this restaurant.
